Presentation at the “Hope for Severe Affective Disorders” conference taking place in Bucharest, Romania from November 5-7, 2026

Autistic adults frequently seek mental health treatment for issues other than autism, per se, such as depression, anxiety and stress-related problems. Yet many mental health providers report limited training and confidence in how to apply evidence-based interventions for this population. The primary goal of this presentation is to describe strategies for adapting existing evidence-based interventions to better support the mental health needs of autistic adults. The emphasis will be on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including mindfulness-based approaches.
